Hello year 4 families!
As requested we have added lots of information to this page that you can use to support your children at home. This includes the common exception spelling words for year four, which can be used in conjunction with the spelling activities suggested on this page. We have also included information on the content of our mathematics curriculum, as a guide, to show what will be covered throughout the year.
We hope you find these useful.

Times tables

Please see below for resources to help your child practise times tables at home.

Times table grids (see below) are useful for independent practice. Try the scrambled grids for more of a challenge!

All pupils have a login to Times Table Rockstars for online practice, and there are also plenty of other online resources and games which children can enjoy, for example on Timestables.co.uk  and

Reading
Children in Year 4 are encouraged to read regularly outside of school. Please see below for a list of recommended books for their age group, which they may wish to explore in addition to their school reading books.
Y4 Maths Summary:
Approximate summaries of Maths coverage throughout Y4. Please note the topics may be covered at different times to those suggested below.
Home Learning
Please find attached a number of optional home learning activities that your child might like to engage with. These are not compulsory, but can be used as home learning tasks as and when you see fit.
We would love to see any home learning that your children produce. Please feel free to send in any pieces of work that your children would like to share, or you could take a photograph and send that to our Year 4 email.
We hope you enjoy some of these activities.
Many thanks,
Mrs. Spencer and Mrs. Harrison.
