Curriculum Development

In 2020, we reviewed and developed our curriculum and we continue to review, reflect and improve upon it regularly.
 
We went through a thorough process as staff to evaluate our current curriculum, considering carefully what we teach, when we teach it and why we teach it then. 
 
This page gives a summary of the school's rigorous work in-line with the school's vision to further enhance the school's rich curriculum. 
The Process:
We started by summarising what our curriculum should be built on:
We recalled our vision and the 4 Shelford Star values. We used this to answer:
What do we want our Shelford Curriculum to be?
After this, we grouped the curriculum desires into categories:
We considered our pupils, and thought carefully about what they need to develop next in-line with the school's vision.
We used all of the above to consider how our pupils learn best and what we should consider for our curriculum implementation.
